Huge Update

Okay, so I have been off of work for the past week and it has been so nice!!! I have the best friends in the whole wide world!!! They gave me a "To Go" party, and it was pretty amazing! We had a hula hoop contest and played Uno and hung out! There were some people there that I hadn't seen in quite a while, and it was so nice! Here are some fun pics:

Then I went and visited Miss Elaine! Soooo much fun! We went and saw Hannah Montana, did a photo shoot, went to a show, scrapbooked, painted, played at Chuck E. Cheese (I got a cool tattoo), and went to this super cool thing called Late Night. I'm still waiting on her to post the pics on her camera to share, but this is what I have to commemorate the trip right now:

Also, she made me this gorgeous painting: It's going to go perfectly in my new room in Colorado when I get it! haha.

Then, my two besties and I went out to dinner last night and ended with a game of Life (We decided Crystal is going to have a million babies because of her annoyance by kids) and Twilight commentary in the background:

So my bestie Cassandra was talking to her mom about me moving, and her mom responds with "You are going to throw her a to go party, right?" haha. So instead of having a going away party, I am having a to go party. :]

It was way too much fun playing around outside. The pic with all of us goes in a frame the girls got me to take to my new window in CO. :]

I've been doing some reading. I just finished this book after watching the movie:It was so much better than the movie. So I needed a new book, and I bought this one today:It's apparently about a family who has been in the witness protection program after witnessing a violent crime involving the mafia. After years, a man from the mafia tracks her down, so it sounds interesting. I'll let you know what I thought when I finish it.

I've been working and schooling and resting. I have three more days at work!!! So super exciting!!! Then I have a week and a half off before I start my new job in CO. We got an apartment for May, June, and July, so that's exciting!

I've been really trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I've been watching what I eat, and I have lost a total of twelve pounds. I just bought this new planner to track my progress better:It's bloody brilliant! It looks so much easier to keep up with then what I have been using. I'm super excited.

This next weekend, I am driving all the way to Indiana to see this cutie pie:We have an exciting weekend planned! OMG! I CANNOT WAIT!!! I'm looking forward to the drive, as well. It's a lot of time to think and meditate and pray and relax.

Our house is currently being remodeled piece by piece. Right now, the bathroom is being worked on. I came home from work one day to see this view of the fromt of my house:

Speaking of scrapbooking, I have been playing with an 8 1/2 x 11 book, since I used all of the room in my last album. Here's the ones I can show you:

The first lady is a talent I discovered locally here in Alabama. She is the creator of Pink Zebra gifts. She has both a website and ebay shop. At her website, you can find various gifts including monogrammed cuties. I'm currently digging these: These cuties are monogrammed ipod holders! I love the polka dots and the monograms! These are totally adorable as well:I want a little girl so I can dress her in this cute pillow case dress! Too adorable!

Her ebay shop showcases super cute die cuts for your layouts and cards. So worth looking into if you don't own your own die cutting machine or can't spend the money on all of the different ones out there but want to use these cuties. Today after work, we went out to celebrate me going away. I love me some tellers. MHM. Sooo much fun!! Here're some fun pics:

I split fajitas with Nelia, and they were delicious. We are goobers, and we discussed a lot of goings on. :] Two of the girls no longer work at our branch, so we did a little catching up...They were all so sweet, and went in to get me a present; they are sooo sweet.

Bowling night, Etsy, and a huge RAK

So I went bowling and to dinner with a couple of my friends Friday night, rather than coming home to sleep like I was planning. It was a lot of fun. :]

I have been doing some pretty sweet creating for a huge Etsy update on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 CST/ 3:00 EST. So check that out then.

I am loving this song right now, and I am a new Toby Keith fan...haha:

I can say that I really started listening to more of his music after watching the movie Beer for my Horses.....hilarious!!!!

So I have a few updates on things!!!

This one is going to be super short, because I am in the midst of trying to clean my room, pack boxes, and pack for Spring Break!

First of all, check the next blog down for a HUGE RAK!!!!! Comment here or on that post for an opportunity for the prize! All you have to do is let me know what inspires you!!!! :]

Second, I am going to the Boulder, Colorado area for Spring Break. If you've ever been there or live in the vicinity, I would love some fun suggestions of things to see or do. :]

Third, speaking of Colorado, I am going to be moving to Longmont, CO. If you have any suggestions of places to go or things to do in that area to meet people in their twenties, let me know.

Fourth, I have marked stuff in my ETSY ETSY ETSY SHOP 40% off. I'm trying to move it out of the shop, so I don't have to move it! I'm even willing to make a deal when you buy multiple items, so convo me on there.

Wow, an actual written post...

I have been having too much fun doing video posts, but I decided it was time for a normal typed post. Wow, wow, wow. I have been totally inspired here recently. :] I've been buying stuff on etsy too...I'll show you sneaky peeks...

I got these lovelies from CRAFTCAKE DESIGNS:

OMG. They are just the cutest. I have been trying to come up with fun ways to be eclectic in a conservative workplace. Our boss is very strict about dress code. And I have totally been loving pins!!! :] And that jewel is just super cool. Elaine's boyfriend, IAN, is awesome for carving those, and I am going to paint mine when I get it. :] I'll def. show piccies. :]

I have been doing a bit of painting...more painting than scrapbooking actually...however I'm not going to show you much, because I am going to do a huge etsy update soon-ish. Stay tuned for that. However here's the crafting I have done lately:

I'm loving life after my workday...haha. it's so fabulous and filled with amazing-ness and productivity.

In other news, I'm super excited for spring break in 1 week and 2 days...We (the fam and I) are flying to lovely Colorado to spend time together...

Oh, and I shared this with Elaine, but I thought I'd share this with all of you, too. I love, love, love the rain. It's so amazing. I love umbrellas and galoshes. I love trampling through the puddles to see just how wet and just how much fun I can have. I love dancing in the rain...(haha. I did that on prom night with my two best friends.) Most of all, I have this image in my head of growing older with my future husband...with us, swinging on a porch swing, cuddling under a blanket, and listening to the sound of the rain...:] pure beauty. pure music to my ears.

So I totally didn't post on Friday like I was going to do. No stories this week. Life has been a bit crazy. I had 7 assignments due Friday night at midnight plus a test for just one of my classes. That doesn't include all of the other assignments for my other classes. I've felt so inspired this week with Kara's class, and this weekend has been fantastic! I just need to make it so that my weekdays are that fantastic. haha. You are going to have to get all of your cute tails over to Scrap Outside the Box for the announcements of our super amazing design team!!! That's at midnight tonight!!! Woo hoo! Congrats girls! We are so excited about this new endeavor. It's so inspiring and refreshing! Yay!

how I have not crossed a lot off of my to-do list today....well, I did 5 out of 9. That just means more to do tomorrow. haha. I'm taking a class from the super rad Kara, and let me tell you, it's super inspiring. Like omg. Check out Scrap Outside the Box. Seriously, guys! It's a great challenge. You totally have to try using Painter's Tape on a layout. :]

Things that I am blessed with here recently:(a warm bed, music, beauty, self-discovery, and a creative outlet)

Tales from the Vault Friday. (on Saturday)

Yesterday was a bit hectic and I didn't get to post a bank story, so here we go:

Whenever we have cutomers at our windows, we always ask customers how they are doing. Well without fail, we have one guy that always answers, "I'm just fat and sassy." hahahahahahahaha. It makes me giggle every time I hear it, even though I have worked there for over a year. :]

It's been a long weekend... (photo heavy)

I have had a four day weekend because of an icky infection. I'm getting better though. I feel like a drug addict though...I got two shots, 4 oral medications (one taken daily, one taen 4 times a day, one taken every four hours, and one before bed), and I had acid reflux or heartburn and had to take a Nexxium, and I had a bladder infection and had to take cranberry tablets...It's funny to me. I'm not telling you this so you feel bad. It cracks me up. At least it all hit me together when I already was off sick. However, I have been creating. Etsy update today, and quite a few layouts...I spent $40 in two days at the lss...(that's not a big deal for most people except I get a good discount since my mom owns the store and I live on a college student's budget) hahaahaha.

I've done a lot of movie/tv watching this weekend...I watched the complete first seasons of Kyle XY and Smallville, as well as Beer for My Horses with Toby Keith and Run, Fatboy, Run... I don't have a cable in my room, so I just watch movies in here while I do creating. It's been very productive as far as art but not so much with school. I have to work on stuff for two classes today... Microeconomics and Computer Science.

Deana, your RAK and Etsy order were both shipped out, just to give an update. I hope you like all of the stuff. I'm thinking about doing a RAK like every other month. It makes me feel happy, so stay tuned.

Elaine, thanks for being so sweet and inspiring here lately. I like sharing creative ideas and concepts.

Speaking of Elaine, you guys have to go to her cute shop. I'm loving these felt bookmarks!

Tales from the Vault Friday.

bahahaaha. I saw this title on dear Elise's blog, and it just seemed perfect for me, considering I work as a teller. I have the silliest stories from work, so every friday will be a Tales from the Vault Friday. It sounds good to me. It allows me to blog more, and share a funny story. I have over a year's worth supply built up. :]

Today is about weird last names- the kind you don't really want to say out loud. With every customer, we have to say their name at least three times. These, however, you kinda mumble under your breath because they could be misinterpreted by other customers. The first one has a story with it; the other three are just for giggles.

Me (after helping one of my fave customers): "Bye, Dr. Hoar (pronounced whore). Have a fantastic weekend!"
Lady in the teller's window next to me: *Looks around til Dr. Hoar exits* "Oh my gosh! What did you just call him?"
Me: "Dr. Hoar. That's his name."
Lady: *rolls her eyes and looks away from me*

ahahahhha...some people

Then there's: Mrs. Assmann, Mr. Butkis, and Mr. and Mrs. Lumpkins.

I hope those made you smile as much as they made me laugh inside.

I have an opinion....

I have heard so many people (guys in particular) ask about the whole obsession behind Twilight. Robert Pattinson even made an incorrect assumption of the reason behind the obsession. haha. The interview with e-online was pretty funny...It just goes to show how differently girls and guys are wired.

I'm going to explain my reasoning behind loving these books so much, and I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter.

For me, I was that girl. In school, I never quite fit in. I was clumsy and awkward. I wasn't the most athletic, or the smartest, or the prettiest. I wasn't your typical teenage girl, either. I felt like I lived in my own little world at times, because I thought and believed differently then most of my peers. I can identify so strongly with Bella. I venture to say that a lot of girls/woman can identify some part of their lives with Bella's. It makes us not feel so alone.

And deep down, we desire to be romanced. It's this unfathomable need that's the essence of who we are as women. Part of our self-worth is wrapped up in this complex desire. If someone dares to chase after us to romance us, then maybe we will feel sufficient.

The books are full of lines that speak to our hearts. "What I want & what I need is to be with you, & I know I’ll never be strong enough to leave again." "You are the most important thing to me now. The most important thing to me ever." "I am purely full of joy, because I am missing nothing. No one has more than I do now." "You are my life now." "You don't see yourself clearly."

We want someone to show and tell us that we are worth fighting for and that we are beautiful and that we are needed.

Even for teenage girls, these desires are there. They run deep. As a child, we see all these fairy tales and want to be the princess.

That's all for now, kids! :] I just felt the need to speak my heart after seeing that video clip.
